This is a multifandom blog of someone who is currently trying to figure out the iPad app that is Sketchbook Pro and is always willing to listen to requests.

My art blog, r-e-artblog: http://r-e-artblog.tumblr.com

I really hope posting this doesn’t get me disqualified for the Korra art contest or anything, but I really wanted to share this one because I’ve worked so hard on it. Forever ago I took a few requests, which I swear I will complete, albeit in a rather untimely manner (please forgive me). The lovely and talented Kaytoko requested Iroh II and Asami Sato dancing, preferably in formalwear. Originally, I was going to draw them doing a tango or salsa, but Bryke announced that they were going to hold an art contest, and I kind of threw myself into making something that might play up their likes instead of mine. I don’t actually ship the couples behind Iroh and Asami, but I figured if I stuck in something that’s possibly going to be cannon, I might do better in their competition. I can’t even begin to tell you how happy I was when I heard that Irohsami was orignially going to be cannon in Book One. It made me feel like I wasn’t selling out throwing in the other couples. I really wanted to put in Tahno, but I really didn’t want to draw him dancing alone.

As for what’s actually going on here, my original idea was that after seeing Asami fight so bravely, Iroh asked her to the United Forces’s equivalent to a military ball. When I felt the need to add in other couples, the idea changed such that Iroh invited the whole crew and their plus ones, but I still want the focus to be Iroh and Asami, not who may or may not be cannon couples.
